ROWLATTS HILL PRIMARY 2012 NATIONAL HOOPS 4 HEALTH
CHAMPIONS ! ! !

On Saturday 12th May 2012 Rowlatts Hill Primary School's basketball team, coached by Denley Andrews, travelled to the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham to compete in the Hoops 4 Health Finals against 8 schools from all over the country.
Each area competed against local schools to get through to the finals as Regional Winners.
Our heroes breezed through the groups stage winning each match comfortably and then also the semi final.
After an exhibition England v Scotland Pro match, the final took place against Two Mile Ash School in Milton Keynes.
Visibly nervous after being paraded out in front of a full stadium, Team Rowlatts struggled to get control of the game and with just a few minutes left on the clock, we were 8-0 down!
Tension was very high and it could easily have looked like we were outdone at the last hurdle.
But no!
Rowlatts Hill's Never-Say-Die attitude dug deep and we scored 5 baskets in the dying minutes to win the title!
It was a remarkable day and the children of Rowlatts Hill did themselves and the community of Rowlatts Hill very proud indeed.
Each player was presented with a winners medal and the team received the 2012 Hoops 4 Health Winners Trophy.
Well done to all who played.

BEAUMANOR HALL RESIDENTIAL TRIP
1 -3 OCTOBER 2012

After the rip-roaring success of this year's residential trip to Beaumanor Hall, the new school year in September offers our then year 5 and 6 children the same treat, from the 1st to the 3rd of October 2012. It will be a 2 night stay, leaving the school on the Monday morning and returning on Wednesday afternoon.
The children who went this year had a fantastic time and early indications show that lots of those who went as year 5 children are going again in year 6.
Letters are out now inviting children to go on the trip and once again, the school have subsidised the cost of the event from £150 down to £70.
As usual, we are limited to 16 boys and 16 girls, so it will be on a 'first-come-first-served' basis.
